Short answer: yes, but only for small signs and occasional use. Mains power is always our first recommendation. Battery power suits pop-up events, markets and signs you only switch on now and then.
Three ways to power an LED neon sign

Why USB only works for small signs
A sign's power draw rises with the length of LED inside it. The LED we use draws around 8 watts per metre, and a USB port can only deliver a small amount of power. That's why we only offer USB on signs with under 2 metres of LED strip.
Some sellers ship larger signs on USB anyway. Those signs either run dim or overload the cable and power bank, which is a safety risk. If a large sign is sold as "USB powered", ask how much LED is in it. For more on spotting low-spec signs, read how to choose a quality LED neon sign supplier.
Our battery pack
We can supply a 12V battery pack that takes 8 x AA batteries (batteries not supplied). We recommend good-quality rechargeable lithium AAs. Cheap alkaline batteries drain very quickly under an LED load.
How long will the batteries last?
It depends on three things: how bright you run the sign, the quality of the batteries (or the size of the power bank), and how much LED is in the sign. As a rough guide from our own testing with 8 x AA:

When to choose battery, and when not to
- Good fit: a market stall, a one-off pop-up, a wedding photo spot with no socket, or a sign you use a few times a year.
- Poor fit: a shopfront, bar or studio sign that's on every day. Use mains.
